Spring 2006 Update
Good day to all,
The excitement in Pueblo SacBe has been high with many advancements.
On March 1, 2006, in the office of Don Victor Manuel Santin Coral, Notary Public Number 24,
in the state of Quintana Roo, the purchase contract for the property known as Pueblo SacBe
was signed by the following persons:
This contract is now registered with the Land Registry office. There are no debts or liens
on the property and all taxes have been paid. In simple terms, Sacbe Village and
Munez y Asociados have clear registered title to 87.504 hectares.
These are the following percentages of ownership:
We are registered as co-proprietors and we are bound by certain legal clauses to fulfill
our mandate to create a Condominium Regiment, which will issue individual titles to each lot owner.
We expect this process to take about six to eight months. SacBe and Munez are united in this process,
will both be governed by our community bylaws, and are obligated to the fulfillment of this commitment.
Thank you all for your patience.
Hallelujah!
Now to community events.
We had a great retreat experience in February with the teachings of Lama Lhanang Rinpoche,
an accomplished teacher of Buddhist philosophy, yoga and painting. On top of that, he is a
wonderful human being and we are richer for his friendship and guidance.
Lama Lhanang taught classes of Yoga in the new beautiful palapa of Maru and Torsten,
had meditation sessions in Lynn's place, 'Templos Kaaxil Ha', wonderful natural environments,
created by very dear friends. Painting classes were held in front of our pool, which the kids enjoyed,
while Mom and Dad learned to paint dragons and mandalas!
Many parents and teachers have been meeting and discussing the start of a kindergarten and
primary school in Pueblo SacBe for several months now. Most of the opinions are to start a
'Waldorf Style School', as restrictions exist in Mexico that cannot follow the Rudolf Steiner
philosophy 100%. I believe, the consensus of what the members of our community want,
is to educate our children the best way we can, in the environment we are in.
Let me proudly say that there is no better environment than Pueblo SacBe, for our children to grow.
Our meeting, chaired by a man I adore, Angel Martinez, joined by many teachers and parents was fruitful.
SacBe has agreed to donate the Orientation Center, a two story palapa, for the school for our
primary children, and an ample area around the site for expansion. Part of our agreement is that
the children of the many workers who are working in the village will receive a free or sponsored
education. Their parents will give us some time helping with the school. The adjacent community
garden will remain communal, but the kids will help with the weeding! We are all very excited
about this, as our children can take their bikes or walk to school. I wish to thank a lot of
teachers, David, Kelly, Siobhon, Jeanie, Gina and parents, Cam, Alvina, Raquel, Angel, Laura,
Nino, Denise, Melissa, Zita, Erick, Alicia and those I apologize for forgetting, for their
dedication to the children. There is nothing more important in the world!
An existing, and very popular school in Playa del Carmen, 'Papalote', wish to start a secondary
school in Pueblo SacBe, within the concepts of Walforf, and we are presently discussing the
logistics of doing this, as a high school will have some impact. I have advised all the
lot owners of this and we are trying to find the right location, so we can maintain the village
harmony.
If you are a Pueblo SacBe owner and have not been receiving our emails
please let us know at info@pueblosacbe.com
With all that's been going on, we have not been able to prepare for the Spring Festival, which we
were planning, so we will put in an extra effort to celebrate the Summer Solstice on Saturday,
June 25th.
Many homes are sprouting up. Four of Memo's temples on the Munez and Associates property are close
to completion. Nino and Laura have constructed a beautiful home overlooking Tohoku Park and Torston
and Maru have completed their Yoga Palapa and are working on a huge palapa for their aftercare
treatment center. Trent and Terrance have constructed a very cool structure combining geodesic dome
design with a Mayan twist. Cam and Alvina have begun the foundation of their new home. Oscar's
Yin Yang home is really taking shape, and now Bill has walls on his bathroom and is having visions
of completion!
We have been cleaning out the cavern under my lot which attaches to the water of the Tohoku Park.
Ignacio Morales Lopez will be doing massages in this well ventilated and magical underground.
Anyone wanting a massage between 10 AM and 5 PM, Monday to Friday, in the cavern, can reserve by email
here or call him directly at 984-876-9749.
He charges 400 pesos for an hour long massage
and he is very good. You can enter by a ladder or by the rowboat from the park. Ignacio is offering
a discount price of 250 pesos for March and April to promote his service.
In anticipation of the land titles being issued to our company, we published last year that we
would be moving the price per square meter to $100 US in March 2006, which we have. Now we are
able to start the process of establishing the Condominium Regiment, which we expect to take from
six to eight months. At that time, we will be issuing individual titles to all lot owners.
We will be raising the price again on November 8, 2006 to $150 M2. We have done a market study
and our prices are still below the average in the area.
The new zapote bridge in the Tohoku Cenote is almost completed making it easier to enter and exit
the water. Also the kids are having a blast in the rowboat.
Carlo and Cecilia have been working hard with Don Marcos and Don Arcadio creating an area for
weekend bazaars to sell handicrafts, plants, art, recycled hardwoods, etc. This is above the
amphitheater, and their presence here has added a very special touch to SacBe.
Hurricane Wilma hit us about six months ago, as is evident in many of the posted pictures in how
the trees are damaged, but I have never seen the flowers more vibrant and the gardens looking so
spectacular. Mother Nature's cleaning!
Here are more pictures of life in the village:
That's all for now and I wish you all the best, ted
